Enterprise Risk Manager

Reporting to the Director - Enterprise Risk Management and Operational Resiliency, the incumbent develops a clear and exciting vision of the enterprise and operational risk management program of CDCC and CDS (collectively “TMX Post Trade”) and executes it by leveraging on robust and consistent methods and the skills and talents of a two senior analyst team.
More specifically, the Manager plans and drives the effective development, execution and evolution of a comprehensive set of frameworks, procedures and practical tools for identifying, measuring, monitoring and managing the range of risks that arise in or are borne by each Financial Market Infrastructure (“FMI”).

The main accountabilities of the role include:

  • Conceptualization and design of frameworks, procedures, and controls that are consistent with each FMI’s risk tolerance, capacity and approach to risk management and aligned with the TMX corporate enterprise risk management (“ERM”) program;
  • Oversee timely and smooth operational implementation of new practices / improvement of existing approaches, both aligned with industry best practices - e.g., Top and emerging risks, Risk objective register, Risks related to new initiatives, Third-party risk management, Incident and Business Resiliency management, Risks and controls self-assessment, Risk and performance monitoring, etc.;
  • Lead and provide expertise and knowledge to the ERM team’s development and usage of enterprise and operational risk models, systems and risk measurement tools;
  • Promote a positive risk management culture through training, communication and promotion of best practices
  • Act as the TMX Post Trade reference point for any question related to enterprise or operational risk management.

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree, Master preferred;
  • Need to demonstrate a solid experience in the delivery and management of ERM/ORM programs;
  • Minimum of 7 years (7) of relevant experience in risk management, audit or compliance function. Experience within a Management Consulting firm is considered as an asset;
  • Proven track record in managing a small team of professionals;
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, more specifically:
  • Very good capability to communicate on a regular basis with the Senior Leadership Team, Board of Directors and regulatory agencies;
  • Ability to reflect and summarize;
  • Excellent analytical skills; Attention to detail;
  • Self-confidence, positive attitude, pragmatism;
  • Ability to work with minimal guidance and make recommendations using professional judgement;
  • Sense of priorities;
  • Great team spirit;
  • Continuously demonstrate a passion to learn more about the TMX businesses and the Exchange sector and learning as much as possible from business unit staff.


  • Certifications in risk and/or business continuity;
  • Knowledge of Google for Work;
  • Knowledge of French.
