YOUR ROLE The incumbent of this position is responsible for a variety of tasks related to terminal maintenance. *This position is a temporary assignment. The duration of this assignment is uncertain and depends on the length of the incumbent employee’s leave. Therefore, no minimum term of employment is guaranteed. RESPONSIBILITIES * Operate various types of equipment (loader, grader, bulldozer, compactor, etc.); * Perform snow removal using machinery and spread abrasives during the winter season; * Carry out manual snow removal (shoveling) in critical areas of the yard; * Perform grounds maintenance during the summer (filling holes, leveling, etc.); * Carry out repairs on paved areas (manual asphalt work); * Clean the terminal using a mechanical sweeper or water tanker; * Perform general outdoor work (grass cutting, garbage collection, cleaning, minor repairs, water pumping when required); * Make safety a priority by complying with all applicable regulations; * Note: This description does not necessarily cover all aspects of the position, as other related tasks may be assigned by management. REQUIRED SKILLS * Class 1 or Class 3 driver’s license is required ; * Proven experience operating loaders, bulldozers, compacters and other construction and other relevant excavation equipment; * Proven intermediate to advanced verbal and written communication skills in French; * Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in a similar role (required); * Experience in excavation and construction (preferred); * Ability to handle and operate a variety of small hand tools; * Ability to prioritize and execute tasks efficiently in a high-pressure environment; * Ability to use sound judgment to follow one- or two-step instructions. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS * Regularly required to stand, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, talk or hear, and smell; * Frequently required to walk, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl; occasionally sit, reach with hands and arms, climb, or balance; * Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions, vibration, and moving mechanical parts; * Ability to tolerate relatively high noise levels; * Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 30–40 lbs on a regular basis; * Ability to work on your feet (standing or walking) for a full shift; * Willingness to perform other general tasks as assigned by management.
