About the role: The Primary purpose of the Security Guards (Escort & Surveillance) D & DA AVOP qualified positions is to provide escorting services within the Toronto Pearson Airport both Airside and Terminal restricted areas and associated buildings within the Airport property. These services are provided to contractor(s) and or visitor(s) who do not have the mandatory required airport access clearance. Key Responsibilities: Demonstrate the ability to operate under positive control under the rules and regulations as set out by the Airport Authority. Escort contractor(s) and/or visitor(s) in and out of restricted areas while maintaining absolute “Care and Control”. Observe the Airfield escorting ratios as enforced by Airport Authority. Recognize and follow all directives as set out in the Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) and Airport Authority. Clear and concise radio communications with respect to and as set out by the guidelines of the Restricted Operators Certificate - Aviation (ROC-A). Establish identified work areas for all closures, pullbacks and call-ups while maintaining line of site, care and control within the secured area. Properly complete Visitor(s) Pass Certificates, ensuring the contractor(s) and/or visitor(s) has it in their possession at all times, validated and properly displayed. Ensure that all contractor(s) and visitor(s) have government issued identification with them at all times. Ensure that the contractor(s) and/or visitor(s) fully understand, agree and sign off to all the terms and conditions for holding Visitor(s) passes and certificates. Assist, under the appropriate AVOP (Airside Vehicle Operator Permit) supervision, in conducting a thorough sweep of the entire construction site. Key Requirements: Valid Purple Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC). D or DA AVOP (Airside Vehicle Operator’s Permit) Ability to work independently and in groups for significant periods of time without direct supervision. Posses a strong command of English with the ability to read, write and communicate proficiently. Must be able to sit, stand or walk for extended periods. Must be able to maintain a high degree of alertness for extended periods. Demonstrate integrity, dependability and a professional and positive courteous manner at all times. Ontario Security Guard License mandatory For D licence A valid Provincial Driver's License with 5 years driving experience. A valid Restricted Radiotelephone Operator's Certificate (Aeronautical); Knowledge and ability to utilize a radiotelephone unit (Two way communication unit able to contact Escort Supervisor). For DA licence A valid Provincial Driver's License with 3 years driving experience; Knowledge and ability to utilize a radiotelephone unit (Two way communication unit able to contact escort supervisor)
