What You'll Do As 1st Cook you'll be responsible for smooth execution, organization, and cooking of all food requirements at ROAR. The 1st Cook plays a key role in development and attention to Health and Safety practices and as such is role model, coach, leader, and ambassador. Key aspects of the role include: Manages food quality, portion control and plate presentation through 100% recipe adherence throughout the team Supports head Chef in culinary direction by providing specials and new menu ideas Lead by example throughout entire shift Train and coach new and existing employees Assist kitchen Leadership team in maintaining and improving Labour and Food Costs Supervise standards of cleanliness, timing, organization, production, food quality, and consistency through ensuring completion of operational checklists Monitors and leads by example in kitchen cleanliness Ensure all products are prepared, held, and served at correct temperatures and correct visual appearance Accurately complete all orders with uncompromising quality and consistency Who You Are You're enthusiastic, your energy is infectious and keeps the whole team motivated Organization is your Zen. You can effectively move between tasks and prioritize appropriately between execution, operational tasks, and cleanliness You know communication keeps everything running smoothly.
