Personal Support Worker - Burlington PTS (Morning/Evening Shift - Casual)

Acclaim Health is currently hiring Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to provide care across Burlington. Successful candidates must be available to work a minimum of two weekdays and every other weekend (both Saturday and Sunday) with consistent shift times. Available shifts include morning shifts from 6:00AM - 2:00PM and evening shifts from 3:00PM - 11:00PM. IMPORTANT INFORMATION * Pay: CA$22.29- $23.39 per hour. * This position is for an existing vacancy. * We do not use AI to screen, assess, or select applicants. PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: * Provides homemaking and personal support services to individuals and families in the community and retirement home settings. * Assist clients with their personal care and activities of daily living to clients, including bathing; grooming; dressing; mouth care; and checking skin integrity. * Collaborates with members of the health care team, the homemaking and personal support services team and family in decision-making regarding planning. * Provides bedside care in retirement homes as directed by the Nurse or otherwise directed by Supervisor. * Assist with the maintenance of catheter and colostomy bags when required. * Performs light housekeeping, including cleaning of clients personal laundry and bedding when required as part of the care plan. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: * Personal Support Worker Certificate or Diploma * Valid Ontario Driver’s license and insurance * Current CPR certificate * Current TB test * Palliative Experience is an asset * Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team member * Ability to use mechanical equipment (hoyer lifts) when required * Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills * Effective observation and listening skills Acclaim Health is an equal opportunity employer and is actively working towards a more inclusive, diverse and equitable world.
