Acclaim Health announces the availability of Casual Shift RPN (Registered Practical Nurse) positions to work shifts ranging from 3 to12 hour in duration in Mississauga and Halton. These positions require the individuals to work a minimum of two shifts a week, as well as 1:4 weekends in addition to a statutory holiday rotation. PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: * Provide shift nursing care to individuals in a community setting. * Meets the health needs of the patient/family through the provision of nursing care. * Develops, implements, evaluates, and modifies the plan of care outlining the strategies, orders and actions to achieve expected/desired outcomes. * Assesses the health status of the client using a holistic care approach * Provides palliative care through end of life * Provides nursing interventions to the full scope of practice * Administers IV therapy including central line and peripheral line maintenance. * Administers medications topically through natural body orifices, through tubes and by injections. * Provides wound care, acute and chronic, for certain types and stages of wounds. * Attends team meetings as required. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: * Current registration with the CNO * Palliative Care education including Fundamentals of Palliative Care, Pain and Symptom Management and CAPCE is an asset * 1 – 2 years of experience in providing palliative care * Experience with CADD PCA pumps * Pain & symptom management experience * Tracheotomy and ventilation experience an asset * Current CPR certificate * Excellent interpersonal, communication and teaching skills * Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle Acclaim Health is an equal opportunity employer and is actively working towards a more inclusive, diverse and equitable world. The Registered Practical Nurse will provide shift nursing care, including holistic assessment and modification of the plan of care, to individuals in a community setting, focusing on palliative care through end of life. Responsibilities also include administering various medications, managing IV therapy, and providing acute and chronic wound care.

Candidates must possess current registration with the CNO and 1-2 years of experience in palliative care, along with a valid driver's license and vehicle access. Palliative care education, experience with CADD PCA pumps, and skills in pain/symptom management are assets or requirements.
