Mainframe Developer / Toronto, ON (Onsite) - FTE

Role - Mainframe Developer Location - Toronto, ON (Onsite 4 day's / week) Experience - 8+ years Type - Full Time Permanent Skills Required: • Tech stack – IBM Mainframe - JCL, COBOL, SQL, DB2, Deep IMS knowledge, Endever, File-AID, CA-7 • Tools: INSYNC, Jira, confluence, Service Now • AI: Should be AI aware / GitHub Copilot/ VSCode • Designer skills: Should be able to independently analyze IMS Segments, create detailed design, lead junior developer, participate end to end field mapping, develop/ unit test and deploy code • DB2: Great understanding of DB2 objects and processing. Should be able to independently analyze DB2 objects. • Soft skill: this person will be placed in a pod with no major mainframe experience hence person should be able to learn independently. Candidate should be a good problem solver with good ability to adapt & learn. • Nice to have (non-mandatory) knowledge of Kafka & RESTful APIs

The developer will independently analyze IMS segments, create detailed designs, and lead junior developers through the end-to-end development lifecycle. Responsibilities include field mapping, unit testing, and deploying code within a DB2 environment.

Candidates must have over 8 years of experience with IBM Mainframe technologies including COBOL, JCL, and deep IMS knowledge. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a pod with limited mainframe experience are essential.
