Résumé du poste

Job Title: Mechanical TechnologistJob Description This Mechanical Technologist role offers the opportunity to work hands-on with complex automated and tele-robotic systems for offshore and subsea applications. You will contribute directly to the design, build, and testing of cutting-edge electro-mechanical systems, supporting prototype builds, large sub-assembly installations, and full system testing in close collaboration with electrical, software, and mechanical engineers. Responsibilities Support hands-on mechanical assembly, electro-mechanical integration, and system testing for complex automated and tele-robotic systems. Build mechanical assemblies and integrated systems from approved drawings, work instructions, and wiring schematics. Install and align large and heavy mechanical sub-assemblies, ensuring proper fit, function, and integration with electrical components and PCBs. Integrate electro-mechanical components, including wiring, PCBs, and unique power systems, into complete system builds. Perform basic electrical tasks such as cable routing, interconnects, and assisting with wiring as required. Participate in prototype builds from the ground up, supporting iterative development and refinement of new products. Conduct hands-on system testing and validation activities to confirm performance and identify issues where applicable. Identify defects, assembly issues, or performance concerns and communicate findings clearly to senior engineers and relevant stakeholders. Monitor inventory levels related to mechanical and electro-mechanical components and recommend purchases as appropriate. Deliver build and integration solutions that are fit for purpose and meet engineering and project constraints. Liaise closely with multidisciplinary teams, including Software, Electrical, Mechanical, Project Management, and Operations, to ensure successful system delivery. Provide occasional soldering support to address defects or issues with product or inventory when required. Follow established quality, safety, and documentation procedures throughout assembly, integration, and testing activities. Essential Skills College diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, or Electro Mechanical Technology. 1–3 years of experience in a hands-on production or prototype build environment. Strong experience with mechanical assembly and system integration for complex systems. Proven ability to build from approved mechanical drawings, work instructions, and related documentation. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, assembly instructions, and wiring schematics accurately. Experience integrating electro-mechanical components into complex systems that include wiring, PCBs, and power systems. Comfort working with physical builds involving large and heavy sub-assemblies. Willingness and ability to support basic electrical tasks such as cable routing and interconnects. Solid mechanical aptitude and familiarity with mechanical systems and mechanical testing. Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality, reliable assemblies. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with subsea systems, autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs), robotics, or sensor-based equipment. Hands-on system testing and validation experience, including functional checks and performance verification. Ability to identify defects and issues during assembly or testing and report them clearly to senior engineers. 2+ years of exposure to CAD software, preferably mechanical design tools. Mechatronics background or multidisciplinary system experience spanning mechanical, electrical, and software domains. Engineering or technologist educational background with system-level build experience. Experience with prototype work, wiring, and interpreting wiring schematics. Comfort working on complex electro-mechanical systems and learning new technologies in a fast-paced environment. Work Environment This is an on-site role in a clean office and workshop environment, working Monday to Friday. You will collaborate daily with a multidisciplinary engineering team, including software, electrical, mechanical, project management, and operations professionals, on innovative subsea and robotic systems. The work involves hands-on assembly, integration, and testing of new products starting from the ground up, with access to modern tools, equipment, and CAD technologies. The initial project is planned for a minimum of three months, with potential for extension as workload increases. The culture emphasizes innovation, teamwork, and practical problem-solving, providing an exciting opportunity to get deeply involved in building and validating advanced subsea submersible systems.
