Senior Airworthiness & Certification Engineer 📍 Ottawa, ON (Hybrid) | Full-Time Are you an aviation certification expert looking to influence complex aerospace programs from concept through approval? We're partnering with an industry-leading aerospace and defense organization seeking a Sr Airworthiness & Certification Engineer to support advanced aircraft modification and mission systems integration projects. This is an opportunity to work at the forefront of airworthiness and certification, collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams and aviation authorities across North America and Europe. You'll play a critical role in ensuring innovative aircraft systems meet regulatory requirements and achieve certification for operational deployment. What You'll Be Doing Develop certification plans, compliance strategies, and certification bases for complex aerospace projects Lead certification activities throughout the engineering lifecycle Interface directly with aviation regulatory authorities and certification agencies Prepare and submit certification documentation and compliance evidence packages Determine certification pathways and design change classifications Support design reviews and compliance assessments across hardware, software, electrical, and integrated aircraft systems Review engineering documentation, test plans, procedures, and technical publications to ensure regulatory compliance Track certification progress, compliance activities, and approval milestones Provide regulatory and airworthiness guidance to engineering, manufacturing, and program teams Support aircraft modification and installation programs from development through certification approval What We're Looking For 8+ years of experience in aerospace certification, airworthiness, or systems engineering Strong knowledge of aircraft certification processes and regulatory compliance requirements Experience developing certification plans, compliance documentation, and approval packages Experience in avionics, electrical systems, software, hardware, or integrated aircraft systems Experience working with aviation authorities such as Transport Canada, FAA, EASA, or equivalent regulatory organizations Strong understanding of aircraft design changes, approvals, and certification methodologies Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills Preferred Qualifications Experience with military or defense aviation programs Knowledge of ARP4754A, DO-178, and/or DO-254 Fixed-wing and/or rotorcraft certification experience Experience supporting aircraft modifications involving sensors, communications systems, antennas, or mission equipment Familiarity with North American and European airworthiness regulations and standards Why Join?
