TITLE: PRODUCTION OPERATOR - WELDER REF. NO.: POW20260904 DEPARTMENT: WELDING EFFECTIVE DATE: 2026-09-04 STATUS: Hourly – Bargaining Unit CLOSING DATE: 2026-09-10 SUMMARY: This position reports to the Supervisor of the department. The incumbent ensures both the correct set up and operation of their own equipment including the organization of tooling requirements to meet production demands within the Welding department. ROLE: Performs the set up and tear down of Welding equipment. Operates Welding equipment to meet production demands. Conducts required quality checks to ensure product is in compliance and in specification Notifies the Lead Hand and/or Supervisor(s) of product defects or other serious occurrences Documents and records all necessary information/data as per work cards and other company requirements Performs equipment operational checks and does basic troubleshooting Performs proper housekeeping, clean-up and 5 S requirements Performs all duties according to safety standards and company policies Any other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time DESIRED SKILLS: Good mathematical skills Manual dexterity – ability to use common tools Good interpersonal and communicative skills REQUIREMENTS: Ability to meet prescribed production standards Experience & knowledge of Welding equipment 1+ year(s) of experience in the Welding department with a basic knowledge of hazards, equipment, machinery, and processes within the Welding area. Ability to complete work with a high degree of accuracy Written and oral aptitude in English Min. grade 12 or equivalent education Conscientious and punctual Willing to learn VACANCIES: 1 Afternoon Shift – 3:30pm-12:00am RATE: $24.83 Subject to assessment of skills and qualifications by Active following a 60 working days probationary period Shifts may vary Shift Premium where applicable
