Our Client Is Looking For a Category Manager, Transformation for Their S/4HANA Transformation Project. The Key Responsibilities Of This Role Are: Strategic Planning and Capability Development Formulating strategies: Designing data-driven category plans, arguments, and assessments that safeguard supply security and drive value creation. Upgrading site operations: Reviewing and refining localized planning, sourcing, and supply capabilities across various active operating sites. Sourcing and Supplier Relationship Management Executing sourcing events: Running end-to-end contract negotiations and implementing strategic agreements via the contract management system. Partnering for innovation: Building collaborative supplier partnerships, participating in specialized negotiations, and integrating electronic supplier catalogues into SAP. Contract Performance and Financial Governance Tracking metrics: Managing ongoing contract fulfillment using performance-reporting mechanisms and targeted KPIs. Auditing savings: Monitoring, reporting, and validating actual financial performance against original projected savings benchmarks. A Category Manager who can do Enterprise Category Management such as legal and finance rather than just operations. Role: Category Manager, Transformation Start: August 18, 2026 End Date: 1 Year Contract. Strong chance of a renewal of 6 months or more Location: First Preference: Vancouver, BC; Onsite 4 days work in the office, 1 day offsite work from home. Second Preference: Remote with limited travel to Vancouver. Work Type: Contract Role Overview Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) are operational or functional team representatives involved in the Transformation program to ensure local knowledge is captured. Their representation primarily benefits their home entities or regions as they represent site interests during different phases of the program. They provide input and insights into the current state processes and systems in order to support the design and delivery of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution that aligns with local operational requirements, business processes, and compliance standards. Responsibilities Transformation Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures Act as a liaison between the ERP Program and local site/region partners. Provide detailed input to Process Leads and GPOs on current-state local business processes, problems, and improvement opportunities Validate future-state process designs to ensure they meet local operational needs Participate in requirements gathering, process mapping, and gap analysis activities. Support data migration efforts by identifying and validating key data sources. Assist in testing activities, including user acceptance testing (UAT), by validating functionality against local requirements. Support development and delivery of training materials tailored to their respective location/teams Identify and advance risks or issues related to local adoption and transition processes. Collaborate with teams dedicated to organizational transitions to support communication and engagement efforts. Perform post deployment sustainment activities required to facilitate the business process. Category Management Support the development of category strategies, arguments, and plans that ensure supply security. Develop supplier partnerships to promote value and innovation. Compile and implement sourcing events and contract negotiations through the contract management system. Actively support progress on identified categories, value creation plans, and arguments by providing relevant tools, data, analysis, and assessments Participate and support special negotiations with supplier partners for specific categories Collaborate with selected suppliers in setting up supplier electronic catalogues in SAP to support strategic contracts Review and improve supply management capabilities within planning, sourcing, and managing processes at the various operating sites while simultaneously bringing value through delivery of group supply contracts Provide ongoing, overall, contract performance management against the performance-reporting mechanisms, and develop, as needed, critical metrics. Monitor and report on actual financial performance (savings), and variances against the original projected savings targets. Qualifications Proven expertise in site- or region-specific operations, systems, and workflows. Strong knowledge and understanding of supply management ideally with a balance of experience in planning, sourcing, managing, and improving and sustaining processes. Extensive experience in global sourcing, category management, RFx and contract drafting, along with broad technical knowledge of key categories in the mining sector. Well-developed contract drafting and communication skills, good interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills. Experience in SAP or Ariba implementations or process improvement initiatives is an asset. Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-functional, project-based environment. Thorough with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
