Director of Business Development – Corporate & Defense Services Adecco is recruiting three senior Directors of Business Development on behalf of a global provider of integrated food services, workplace solutions and facilities management. These opportunities are designed for established new-business hunters who can originate complex opportunities, access executive decision-makers and convert strategic relationships into substantial, long-term service contracts. Available Opportunities Director of Business Development – Defense National territory. Candidates based in the Greater Toronto Area are preferred. Director of Business Development – Corporate Quebec Based in Montreal and responsible for corporate growth across Quebec. Professional fluency in French and English is required. Director of Business Development – Corporate Western Canada Candidates may be based in Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Regina, Winnipeg or another major Western Canadian market. The Opportunity You will develop new relationships with corporate employers, professional-services organizations, government and defense-related organizations. Potential solutions include workplace dining, food services, integrated facilities management, cleaning, maintenance and other outsourced workplace services. This is not an account-maintenance or RFP-response position. You will be expected to build a territory, generate your own opportunities and develop relationships well before a formal procurement process begins. Key Responsibilities Create and execute a strategic territory-development plan Identify target organizations and map their decision-making structures Generate a strong, self-developed pipeline of net-new opportunities Gain access to CEOs, CFOs, COOs, procurement leaders and government executives Uncover operational and commercial challenges through consultative discovery Develop comprehensive service solutions with internal subject-matter experts Navigate lengthy, competitive and politically complex sales cycles Lead negotiations involving significant multiyear contracts Build internal support across operations, finance, legal and leadership Close profitable net-new business and identify cross-selling opportunities Required Experience Proven success in senior B2B business development Strong record of personally originating and winning net-new business Experience independently managing a large geographic territory Ability to engage and influence C-suite stakeholders Experience selling complex services or enterprise solutions Strong commercial judgment, negotiation skills and executive presence Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and opportunities simultaneously Willingness to travel approximately 50%–60% Experience in food services, facilities management, workplace services, government contracting or defense is valuable but not mandatory. Strong candidates may also come from enterprise technology, automation, professional services, consulting, fleet services or other sophisticated outsourced-service environments. Additional Requirements For the Quebec opportunity, candidates must be professionally bilingual in French and English. For the Defense opportunity, familiarity with government procurement, public-sector stakeholders or defense-related contracting would be highly advantageous. Compensation and Benefits Base salary of $120,000–$135,000 Potential flexibility for exceptional candidates Annual car allowance of approximately $8,900 Significant commission opportunity tied to profitable net-new business Target commission opportunity of approximately $144,000 at full quota attainment Flexible benefits Employer matching pension 20 vacation days Five quality-of-life days Six paid sick days Professional laptop and cellphone Approved travel and business expenses
