About the role Position Summary We are seeking a Bilingual Employee Relations Specialist (French/English) to support employee relations matters across Canada and the US. This role is responsible for conducting workplace investigations, providing guidance on employee relations issues, ensuring compliance with employment legislation, and partnering with HR, Legal, and business leaders to resolve employee concerns effectively and fairly. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience managing employee relations investigations in Canada and the US, strong knowledge of country employment laws and workplace practices, excellent documentation skills, and the ability to communicate fluently in both English and French. What you’ll be doing Employee Relations & Investigations Conduct end-to-end employee relations investigations involving workplace complaints, allegations of misconduct, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, policy violations, and other employee concerns. Gather and analyze evidence through interviews, documentation reviews, and fact-finding activities. Prepare clear, objective, and comprehensive investigation reports outlining findings and recommendations. Ensure investigations are conducted in a timely, confidential, and legally compliant manner. Partner with HR Business Partners, Legal, and business leaders to determine appropriate corrective actions and resolutions. Employee Relations Support Provide guidance to managers and employees on workplace policies, procedures, and employee relations matters. Support performance management, conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and employee conduct concerns. Identify workplace trends and recommend proactive solutions to mitigate risk and improve employee engagement. Assist with employee accommodation requests and return-to-work situations as appropriate. Compliance & Risk Management Ensure compliance with applicable Canadian and United States federal and provincial employment legislation and company policies. Maintain accurate case documentation and records in accordance with internal procedures and legal requirements. Support audits, reporting requirements, and compliance initiatives related to employee relations matters. Monitor legislative changes and emerging workplace trends that may impact employee relations practices. About you Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 1-3 years of employee relations experience with direct responsibility for conducting workplace investigations in Canada and the US. Fluent in both English and French (written and verbal). Strong understanding of country employment laws and standards, human rights legislation, workplace investigations, and employee relations practices. Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion. Strong interviewing, analytical, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills. Excellent written communication skills with the ability to prepare detailed investigation reports. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and HR case management systems. Preferred SHRM -CP or PHR Certification CHRP, CHRL, CPHR, or similar HR certification. Experience in a multi-provincial and/or multinational organization. Experience working in shared services, corporate HR, or centralized employee relations environments.
