J2EE Application Support

On behalf of our public sector client, Affinity is seeking a J2EE Application Support Team to Provide Application Maintenance and Operations Services in support of a portfolio of Java-based enterprise applications. Services will be delivered on an as-needed basis and may include application maintenance, operational support, break/fix activities, system enhancements, modernization initiatives, testing support, deployment support, and the development and maintenance of technical documentation. Responsibilities: • Analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution of application incidents and defects. • Development, testing, and implementation of application enhancements and approved changes. • Maintenance and support of J2EE applications and related technologies. • Support for application upgrades, migrations, and modernization initiatives. • Development and modification of application interfaces, integrations, reports, and database components. • Preparation of technical documentation, deployment documentation, and knowledge transfer materials. • Support for application testing activities, including unit, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing. • Support for deployments and promotion of application changes through development, test, and production environments. • Analysis of business and technical requirements and development of associated technical solutions. • Collaboration with Ministry staff and stakeholders to support ongoing application operations and service delivery. • Provision of recommendations to improve application performance, reliability, maintainability, and operational support. • The Resource(s) will provide application maintenance and operational support services including incident resolution, application enhancements, technical analysis, software development, testing support, deployment support, technical documentation, and knowledge transfer activities as assigned by the Province. Qualifications: • Minimum five (5) years of recent experience within the last ten (10) years providing application maintenance and support services for enterprise applications. • Demonstrated experience supporting J2EE applications in complex enterprise environments. • Demonstrated experience with Oracle database technologies. • Demonstrated experience with application troubleshooting, maintenance, enhancement, testing, deployment, and operational support. • Demonstrated experience developing and supporting application integrations and web services (SOAP and/or REST). • Demonstrated experience with at least 2 applications in a hosting environment: o Linux applications servers o Linux Oracle servers o Windows web servers (IIS, Apache, Tomcat) • Demonstrated experience with applications with a userbase of 100-1000's. • Demonstrated experience with applications using Spatial integration (ArcGIS, Google Maps API. • Demonstrated experience with applications that integrate with internal and external applications (for example ICBC). • Demonstrated experience with SiteMinder integration. • Demonstrated experience with at least 1 application in the transportation and infrastructure realm: o traffic information system o transportation permitting o bridge and structural management o commercial vehicle safety enforcement o highway maintenance and performance evaluation o highway resource information o or public safety for road conditions • Working knowledge of MS-Office Suite (including Visio). • Experience supporting transportation, infrastructure, public sector, or similar business systems. • Experience with WebADE. • Experience with Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, Oracle Discoverer, and Oracle Designer. • Experience with Spring Boot, Jakarta EE, Thymeleaf, or modern Java application frameworks. • Experience with Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, GitHub, or similar development and DevOps tools. • Experience supporting applications integrated with mapping technologies, financial systems, or external partner systems.
