Afrizan People Intelligence is recruiting on behalf of a client for an Underground Mechanical Technician to support the reliability and performance of underground emulsion charging systems and related equipment. The successful candidate will troubleshoot, maintain and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems while supporting safe, uninterrupted operations across mining sites. Responsibilities The successful candidate will: Maintain and repair fixed and mobile equipment across operational sites. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems. Support equipment reliability and adherence to safety standards. Complete maintenance documentation, service reports and parts usage records. Monitor critical spares and consumables. Coordinate repairs and logistics with relevant operational stakeholders. Ensure technical and regulatory standards are consistently met. Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities. Requirements High School Diploma. Mechanical Engineering Technician Diploma. Minimum three years’ experience maintaining mobile and fixed plant equipment. Mining industry experience. Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting capabilities. Solid understanding of operational best practices and regulatory standards. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong planning, organisation and communication skills. Proven ability to lead and train small teams.
