Mobile Application Developer

Agilus client is a world renowned financial services company and is adding to their team. We're looking for multiple Mobile-First Full Stack Developer to help build and enhance our clients digital investment experience used by thousands of Canadians. While this role includes full-stack responsibilities across frontend, backend, and cloud technologies, the primary focus is on delivering exceptional mobile applications using modern frameworks and cloud-native architectures. You'll work closely with product, design, and engineering teams to build intuitive mobile experiences, scalable APIs, and secure cloud-based services that deliver real value to investors. What You'll Do Design, develop, and maintain mobile applications using React Native for iOS and Android Build and enhance native mobile capabilities using Swift (iOS) and/or Kotlin (Android) where required Create scalable and responsive user experiences that deliver a seamless cross-platform mobile experience Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and backend services using Java and modern application architectures Collaborate with UX, Product, and Engineering teams to deliver new mobile features and product enhancements Build cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS services and modern DevSecOps practices Participate in architecture discussions and help drive technical decisions across mobile, web, and API layers Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code with a strong focus on security, performance, and reliability Troubleshoot production issues and continuously improve application stability and user experience What You'll Bring Mobile Development (Primary Focus) 3+ years of experience building mobile applications using React Native Experience developing and deploying applications to both iOS and Android Strong understanding of: React Native architecture React Hooks State management (Redux, Context API, etc.) Mobile navigation frameworks Performance optimization Mobile security best practices Experience integrating mobile applications with APIs and cloud services Familiarity with native mobile development using: Swift / SwiftUI Kotlin / Android SDK Experience publishing and supporting applications through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store Backend Development Experience developing backend services using Java Knowledge of Spring Framework and modern API development principles Experience designing and consuming: RESTful APIs JSON services SOAP services Message queue integrations Understanding of application security, scalability, and performance optimization Frontend Development Experience with React.js or other modern JavaScript frameworks Strong knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript Experience building responsive web applications and reusable UI components Cloud & DevOps Experience developing and deploying applications on AWS Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes Experience working within Agile and DevSecOps environments Exposure to monitoring, logging, and cloud-native application practices Salary Range: $99,000 – $120,000 + Bonus + RRSP + Benefits This position is required to be onsite 1x per week in downtown Toronto. This role is ideal for a developer whose passion is mobile engineering, but who also enjoys contributing across the full technology stack to deliver world-class digital products.

Design and develop cross-platform mobile applications using React Native while building scalable backend services and APIs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, cloud-native investment experiences for users.

Requires 3+ years of experience in React Native development and proficiency in Java for backend services. Candidates should have experience with AWS, native mobile languages (Swift/Kotlin), and modern JavaScript frameworks.
