The Director, Corporate Tax is responsible for the overall tax strategy of the organization and its Canadian, U.S., and international subsidiaries. As the lead tax expert, this individual ensures tax compliance, optimizes the group's tax structure, manages tax risks, and acts as a strategic business partner to senior leadership on key initiatives, acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, and expansion projects. This role involves overseeing Canadian, U.S., and international tax activities, as well as coordinating relationships with tax authorities and external advisors. Advise senior management on tax, financial, and regulatory matters. Monitor tax developments and assess the impact of legislative changes. Identify and implement tax optimization opportunities in compliance with applicable regulations. Tax Compliance Oversee the preparation and filing of Canadian and U.S. tax returns and coordinate the review of international tax filings. Ensure compliance with income tax, indirect tax, transfer pricing, and international reporting obligations. Oversee tax installments, elections, and disclosure requirements. Tax Accounting Oversee current and deferred tax provisions in accordance with IFRS standards. Ensure the accuracy of tax disclosures in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Coordinate external auditors' tax-related work. International Taxation Oversee transfer pricing compliance and documentation. Manage matters related to international structures, tax treaties, foreign affiliate rules, and Pillar Two requirements, where applicable. Coordinate tax activities across multiple jurisdictions. Transactions and Special Projects Participate in acquisitions, mergers, reorganizations, and other strategic transactions. Participate in, perform, or oversee tax due diligence reviews. Assess the tax implications of investments and business projects. Tax Risk Management and Tax Authorities Lead tax audits and manage relationships with tax authorities. Negotiate settlements and defend the entity's company's tax positions. Ensure effective tax controls and tax risk management practices. Team Leadership Lead, develop, and engage the tax team while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Ensure alignment between tax team priorities, business objectives, and organizational goals. Collaborate closely with Accounting, Finance, Legal, Treasury, and Human Resources teams. What will enable you to have an impact: Bachelor's degree in Accounting. CPA designation. Master's degree in Taxation or completion of the In-Depth Tax Course. Minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate taxation. Strong knowledge of Canadian and U.S. taxation; international tax experience is considered an asset. Experience in tax accounting and transfer pricing. Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills. Bilingualism in French and English. A minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate taxation is required, along with strong knowledge of Canadian and U.S. tax regulations and bilingual proficiency in French and English.
