Electrician Apprentice, 2nd to 4th Year

Job Summary: Assist Journeyman with installation of electrical control systems in new and existing buildings including retro fit projects in a construction environment. Working conditions may include restricted movement, dirty environments, hazardous materials, moderate physical duties and working at heights. Key Responsibilities: * Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts for new and existing installations * Cut, bend, thread and install conduits and other types of electrical conductor enclosures and fittings * Pull wire through conduits and ceiling spaces * Install, replace and repair electrical control equipment such as relays, temperature sensors, actuators and panels. * Troubleshoot and isolate faults in electrical and electronic systems, remove and replace faulty components * Splice, join and connect wire to components to form complete control systems * Adhere to all company policies and procedures * Perform tasks with minimal supervision and in accordance with Ainsworth Health & Safety policies and procedures * Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by and in accordance with all applicable Health, Safety and Environmental company policies and government legislation/regulations * Participate in out-of-town projects and be available for after-hours work as required. Qualifications: * Main skill required, indentured apprenticeship in Manitoba (2nd or 3rd or 4th Year) with conduit experience * High School degree, diploma, or a GED equivalent qualification from a certified college * Knowledge of electrical theory and terminology * Experience with HVAC, building electrical systems and VFD’s an asset * Ability to read and draw simple electrical sketches and schematics * Excellent command of the English Language, both written and oral * Strong attention to detail, ability to execute precision work * Commercial/ Construction installations experience * Class 5 driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract We welcome and encourage applications from candidates with Métis status as part of our commitment to diversity and inclusion. Assist Journeyman with the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical control systems in construction and retrofit projects. Responsibilities include reading technical drawings, installing conduits, and troubleshooting electrical faults while adhering to safety regulations.

Candidates must be an indentured electrical apprentice in Manitoba (1st to 4th year) with experience in conduit installation. A high school diploma or GED equivalent and a valid Class 5 driver's license are required.
