AIR INUIT CORPORATE PROFILE Air Inuit has been providing essential scheduled, chartered, cargo and emergency air transport services to Nunavik and beyond- 24 hours a day, 365 days a year - for over 42 years. Collectively owned by the Inuit of Nunavik, through Makivik Corporation, the airline operates a fleet of 30 aircraft and employs approximately 800 employees in one of the world’s most challenging flight environments. Air Inuit Management and its team of dedicated employees are committed to pursuing their tradition of providing safe, punctual and courteous air service for the growing number of people living and doing business in this enchanting region of Nunavik in Northern Québec. POSITION OVERVIEW The Daily Operations Coordinator (DOC) is responsible for the smooth running of daily operations at Air Inuit. The DOC coordinates the daily flights operated by Air Inuit. Depending on the events encountered, the DOC has to quickly decide on the appropriate action to be taken, such as changing an aircraft or crew member, changing schedules, delaying/cancelling a flight, switching an aircraft or adding an addition flight for commercial reasons, weather or as required. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Ensures that safety is the primary concern for all day-of-flight decisions. * Ensures compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements as well as company policies. * Issues to the ops control center and bases the day-of-flight operating directives based on company needs and directives. * Ensures effective planning by combining commercial priorities with operational requirements for all scheduled, cargo charter and 3rd party contract flights during normal and irregular operations. * Provides liaison between internal groups and ensures a consistent exchange of information. * Provides leadership to the dispatch team during strategic planning initiatives. * Ensures that affected parties (internal and external) become aware of significant events and constraints. * Support the production and publishing of future planning. * Perform other related tasks as requested by the Manager, Commercial Operations QUALIFICATIONS * Have at least 5 years’ experience in airline operations. Experience as aviation dispatcher would be an asset. * Be familiar with the following aircraft types: BE10, BE30, DHC-6, DHC-8 and B737 is an asset. * Be knowledgeable with regards to the principles of payload maximization and flight operations cost minimization. * Excellent knowledge of Air Inuit network. * Knowledge of applicable Transport Canada commercial and operations flight policies. * Bilingual (French/English) Inuktitut would be a complementary asset; * Be familiar with Word, Excel and Office. * Good stress management and team spirit. * Hold a High School Diploma or equivalent EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS * Modified work schedule (rotation based) COMPENSATION * Compensation and benefits are determined in accordance with corporate policy.
