What You Offer: Ideally, you have experience working with children, youth and young adults or vulnerable individuals in a health care setting. The Position: This is a part-time, permanent position based out of our Orange Hub Respite Centre and will report to the Program Supervisor. This position is a year-round commitment to support our Weekend Respite programs for the following sessions dated: Fall: September 26, 2026 - December 12, 2026 Winter: January 9, 2027 - March 20, 2027 Spring: April 10, 2027 - June 19, 2027 Summer: July 3, 2027 - August 28, 2027 Required Commitment: Saturdays from 10:30 a.m.– 4:30 p.m. excluding Statutory Holidays. The Team Lead (TL) provides leadership and support to Community Specialists (CS) and participants for assigned programs. This role will ensure program planning and implementation focuses on participant goals and meeting assigned outcomes. The conscientious TL acts with integrity, is open to growth, lives our purpose, cultivates teamwork, and demonstrates an extraordinary effort to empower individuals with diverse abilities and their families to grow, succeed, and belong. Key Functions 1. Informs, supports, trains, mentors, leads, and oversees direct care front line employees 2. Plans programming, ensuring meaningful days and purposeful support 3. Foster genuine relationships promoting dignity, personal interests, and identities 4. Empower people with diverse abilities to create meaningful days and achieve their goals 5. Identifies and solves problems, building employee capacity in difficult situations 6. Conduct general administration, follow-ups, documentation, and reporting duties as assigned 7. Ensures risk free, stimulating, safe, and supportive environment 8. Perform other job-related activities as required QUALIFICATIONS 1. Minimum education requirement of a High School Diploma with minimum of 3-5 years of related experience, or a Certificate or Diploma in Disability Services, Social Work, Human Services, or a related field with 2-3 years of related experience, or a University Degree in Disability Services, Social Work, Human Services, or a related field with 1-2 years of related experience 2. Alignment with AdaptAbilities core purpose and core values 3. Capable leadership, communication, teamwork and positive attitude 4. Strong conflict resolution skills 5. Excellent organization and time management skills 6. Ability to remain calm in emotionally challenging situations and effectively use empathy 7. Clear Police Information Check and Intervention Record Check are required 8. Intermediate First Aid Certification CPR Level C and AED is required upon hire 9. Abuse Prevention and Response Protocol is required for Team Leads working with adults 10. The Team Lead provides leadership, training, and support to front-line employees while ensuring program planning meets participant goals. They are responsible for fostering genuine relationships, maintaining a safe environment, and performing administrative duties.

Candidates must have a high school diploma with 3-5 years of experience, or a relevant diploma/degree with 1-2 years of experience. Required certifications include First Aid, CPR, AED, and specific crisis intervention and abuse prevention training.
