Sales Consultant – Flooring – Alberta Hardwood Flooring Location: Edmonton, AB Job Type: Full-time Industry: Flooring / Interior Finishes / Home Improvement About Alberta Hardwood Flooring Alberta Hardwood Flooring is an established Edmonton flooring company specializing in quality hardwood, luxury vinyl, carpet, tile, laminate, and other flooring solutions. We pride ourselves on providing customers with knowledgeable, personalized service and helping them find the product that fits both their home and their lifestyle. We offer both residential and commercial services. We are looking for an enthusiastic, professional Retail Sales Consultant to join our team. The Opportunity This is a customer-focused sales position for someone who enjoys working with people and has a natural ability to build relationships and guide customers through a purchasing decision. You will work with homeowners, designers, builders, and other clients to understand their needs, recommend appropriate flooring products, prepare quotes, and help bring the sale through to completion. Responsibilities Welcome customers and provide knowledgeable, professional service in our showroom Build relationships with customers and understand their flooring needs, preferences, and budget Recommend flooring products based on style, performance, lifestyle, and project requirements Prepare estimates and quotations, including on site measurements/visits. Follow up with customers and manage sales opportunities from initial inquiry through to closing Develop strong product knowledge across hardwood, luxury vinyl, laminate, and related flooring products Maintain organized customer records and follow up on outstanding opportunities Work with installers, suppliers, designers, builders, and internal team members to ensure a smooth customer experience Maintain an attractive, organized showroom Meet individual and company sales goals Provide exceptional customer service before, during, and after the sale What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is: Sales-oriented and motivated by results Confident and comfortable speaking with customers Professional, personable, and approachable A strong listener who can understand what a customer actually needs Organized and able to manage multiple customers and projects Comfortable asking for the sale and following up consistently Detail-oriented with strong communication skills Comfortable learning product specifications and flooring terminology Reliable and able to work independently as well as part of a team Experience Previous experience in retail sales, flooring, furniture, cabinetry, interior design, home improvement, building products, or another consultative sales environment is an asset. However, we are willing to consider someone with strong sales ability and the right personality who is motivated to learn the flooring industry. What We Offer What We Offer Starting base salary of $60,000 per year Uncapped sales commission The opportunity to earn $80,000–$100,000+ annually based on sales performance Professional showroom environment Training and ongoing product education Opportunity to build long-term customer relationships Supportive team environment Opportunity for growth within an established Edmonton flooring business The Ideal Candidate The right person doesn't need to be a flooring expert on day one.
