General Internal Medicine provides care to adult patients with complex acute and chronic medical conditions requiring comprehensive assessment, clinical expertise, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Description: As a Unit Clerk, you will be responsible for the efficient flow of communication between health professionals, departments, patients and families while maintaining confidentiality of patient information. You will also be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks which may include reception, greeting and directing visitors, patients and health professionals, maintaining patient records and charts, transcribing and processing physician orders as well as scheduling patient tests and/or treatments. You will also be responsible for performing a range of administrative activities in support of the unit. Classification: Unit Clerk Union: AUPE GSS Unit and Program: UAH Medicine 5E3 Primary Location: U of A Hospital Location Details: As Per Location Multi-Site: Not Applicable FTE: 1.00 Posting End Date: 13-AUG-2026 Employee Class: Regular Full Time Date Available: 24-AUG-2026 Hours per Shift: 7.75 Length of Shift in weeks: 6 Shifts per cycle: 30 Shift Pattern: Days Days Off: As Per Rotation Minimum Salary: $28.49 Maximum Salary: $34.62 Vehicle Requirement: Not Applicable Required Qualifications: Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program. Additional Required Qualifications: Recent healthcare administrative or clerical experience. Strong computer proficiency including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Minimum two (2) years recent acute care Unit Clerk experience. Preferred Qualifications: Connect Care experience preferred. Experience supporting admissions, transfers, discharges and patient flow preferred. Assisted with patient flow coordination while working independently in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Able to work independently to support and improve patient flow throughout clinical operations.

Exigences
Candidates must have a Grade 12 diploma and completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course. A minimum of two years of recent acute care experience and proficiency in medical terminology and Microsoft Office are required.
