The pathologist is responsible for diagnosing diseases and physiological disorders through microscopic and chemical analyses of laboratory specimens. They also supervise laboratory activities and act as consultants to other physicians regarding diagnostic procedures.

Candidates must hold a degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or optometry and possess specific certifications including the LMCC and Royal College certification. A specialization in laboratory, anatomical, or general pathology is required along with 1 to 2 years of experience.
