Marine Electrical engineer

Job Title: Marine Electrician Department: Technical Reports To: Head of Technical Operations Albion Marine Solutions provides project management, engineering, consultancy, and conversion services to the maritime and offshore industries worldwide. Service Engineer, EIA will have responsibility for managing technical solutions for maintenance, troubleshooting, and conversion projects, and attending to vessels in ports. The Marine Electrician contributes by executing the maintenance of electrical components of our equipment in line with company's and industry’s safety policies and regulations to ensure the optimal status of the equipment, its operability, and availability. Responsibilities • Attend vessels for inspections, commissioning, surveys and troubleshooting of the automation and electrical systems, boilers, scrubbers, ballast water treatment systems and other machinery. • Deliberate with management on the requirements and procedures for project execution. • Organize and manage EIA projects toward the fulfillment of a set objective. • Provide EIA expertise to produce concept and detail designs for Marine/Ship/Offshore projects. • Prepare Electrical Load Balance Calculations, Single Line Diagrams, Short Circuit Calculations, Earthing System Calculations, and Breaker Selectivity Analysis. • Provide a selection of components like transformers, rectifiers, UPS, circuit breakers, battery system, cable selection, cable schedule, cable bulk MTO etc. • Develop Instrument list, I/O list, systems schematics, control philosophy, control narratives, control block diagrams, cause and effect table, data sheets etc. • Carry out troubleshooting and programming of Programmable Logic Controllers. • Prepare Cause and Effect diagrams, Control/Safety Narrative, and Logic Diagrams. • Interface with other discipline engineers, clients, equipment suppliers and class authorities. Qualifications • Degree in Electrical/Instrumentation/Automation Engineering or equivalent. • A Red or Blue Seal Electrician Certification is required. • Arc Flash & High Voltage Safety Engineer Certification. • Programmable Logic Controller Technician Certification. • Certified Automation Professional Certification. • Advance Marine Electrical Technician Certification. • Good knowledge of the shipboard safe working practices. • 5 + years' experience in Electrical and Instrumentation/Controls Design within Marine/offshore oil/gas industries. USA B1/B2 visa is Must

Manage technical solutions for maintenance, troubleshooting, and conversion projects for maritime and offshore vessels. Execute the maintenance of electrical components and produce detailed engineering designs and calculations for shipboard systems.

Requires a degree in Electrical/Instrumentation/Automation Engineering and multiple certifications including Red or Blue Seal Electrician and PLC Technician. Must have over 5 years of experience in marine/offshore industries and a valid USA B1/B2 visa.
