General Postdoctoral Researcher (Masters/PhDs) - AI Training About The Role What if your years of advanced research and hard-won expertise could directly shape how the next generation of AI reasons, solves problems, and understands the world? We're looking for Masters and PhD-level researchers to work with Alignerr — partnering with the world's leading AI research labs to build and train cutting-edge AI models. Your academic depth and research instincts will be used to design and solve the kinds of complex, multi-disciplinary problems that push AI reasoning to its limits. This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for researchers who want to do meaningful, intellectually stimulating work on their own schedule. Organization: Alignerr Type: Hourly Contract Location: Remote Commitment: 10–40 hours/week What You'll Do Develop, solve, and review advanced problems across academic and professional domains with real-world relevance Apply your research expertise to design complex problem statements that challenge and improve AI reasoning Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and domain experts to enhance model performance Ensure academic rigor, clarity, and intellectual depth across all deliverables Contribute to projects spanning multiple disciplines — from mathematics and sciences to engineering and beyond Who You Are Holder of a Master's or PhD in a STEM or highly technical field from a top university Proven track record in research, publications, or complex technical project management Exceptionally clear written and verbal communicator with strong attention to detail Self-motivated and reliable when working independently and asynchronously Fluent in English Nice to Have Prior experience with data annotation, data quality evaluation, or AI evaluation systems Proficiency in Python, R, or other research-oriented programming languages Cross-disciplinary expertise or experience solving problems outside your primary field Familiarity with AI tools, language models, or machine learning workflows Why Join Us Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside the world's leading research labs Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, intellectually rigorous work Put your advanced expertise to work on problems that actually matter at a global scale Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
