Position Summary The Security Professional – Patient Watch is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors within a healthcare facility. This role involves continuous monitoring of assigned patients to ensure their safety, prevent harm, and provide support in accordance with hospital policies and procedures. Mandatory Required Vaccines Must sign an attestation for the following vaccinations: Mantoux test (tuberculosis) Measles/Rougeole (proof of vaccination or serology) Measles/ Oreillons (proof of vaccination or serology) German Measles or Rubella (proof of vaccination or serology) Chicken Pox Varicelle (proof of vaccination or serology) Covid vaccinations - 1 shot is mandatory Highly recommended (but not required): - Hepatitis B -Flu Vaccination Key Responsibilities Provide continuous observation of assigned patient(s) as directed by hospital staff. Ensure patient safety by preventing self-harm, elopement, or disruptive behavior. Maintain a calm and professional presence at all times. Document observations and incidents accurately and promptly. Communicate effectively with nursing staff and supervisors regarding any changes in patient behavior. Respond quickly and appropriately to emergency situations. Follow all hospital protocols, confidentiality policies, and security procedures. Assist with de-escalation when required, using approved techniques. Qualifications & Requirements Valid Security Guard License. Current First Aid & CPR certification. Previous healthcare or patient watch experience preferred. Strong observation and communication skills. Ability to remain alert and focused for extended periods. Professional demeanor and strong conflict-resolution skills.
