One of Alquemy's clients, a well-known utilities company based in Toronto, is looking to hire a Sr. FInancial Analyst with a Canadian CPA designation. Job Name: Sr. Financial Analyst (CPA designation )Start date: ASA PDuration of Term: 1 yea rPay Range: $50-60 INC and T 4Based on 35 hours per wee kMandatory Hybrid Work Model: 3 days in office (Tues-Thu ) Job Descriptio n: KEY RESPONSIBILITI ES:• Preparation and review of inputs into the consolidated financial statement note disclosures on a quarterly ba sis• Prepares routine and non-routine journal entries and reconciliations on a monthly and quarterly bas is.• Provides reliable financial information, analysis and operational support related to electricity regulatory filings and other internal management reporting requiremen ts.• Implements accounting, organizational and regulatory policies and the associated internal control activities, including supporting external audito rs.• Discusses financial performance in terms of key value drivers of the business and clearly communicates the analysis behind the numbe rs.• Remains current and compliant with emerging IFRS and Accounting Procedures Handbook (APH) accounting and disclosure requirements and implementation of those accounting standard chang es.• Improves productivity in processes, which may include re-engineering current processes and finding automation and efficiencies through the use of IT too ls.• Implements risk management and internal controls, including assessment and monitoring whether internal controls in place are adequately designed and operating effective ly.• Tracks and monitors progress of key projects and initiatives to facilitate company-wide accountabili ty.• Leads meetings/initiatives with business units and cross functional teams; influences others with respect to obtaining required inputs, timelines and achieving desired outcom es.• Understanding of regulatory accounting and MIFRS is highly desir ed.• Performs ad hoc analysis, special projects and initiatives as need ed. REQUIREME NTS: • Bachelor/ Undergraduate degree in Commerce, Business Administration or related field from an accredited sc hool.• Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) Designation in Canada is req uired• Five (5) or more years of progressive financial analysis experi ence.
