Who You Are: We are looking for a Junior Company Safety Officer to work based at our Leduc Office/Shop (AB). This position will require regular travelling to Sites /Camp with accommodations & a company vehicle provided. Starting wage from $33/hour, based on experience and qualifications. Alstar will provide comprehensive training to ensure the CSO is trained for all position-specific responsibilities. This a full-time employee position based out of Leduc,AB. Here’s what we offer you: Extensive support through hands on training and ongoing mentorship development Competitive compensation Total Rewards Program Extended health care plan including medical, dental, vision, and mental health services Group RRSP Group Life - AD&D - Critical Illness Insurance Paid safety orientations Great company culture and environment Areas to grow within the organization, opportunities for growth Recognition of achievements and contributions Position Summary: Shift: Monday to Friday at the Leduc Office/Shop Location Must be flexible with the work schedule to accommodate business needs The majority of time will be spent on the shop floor, yard, and in the field, ensuring compliance with Alstar's Safety Management System This role requires sharing the on-call phone during weekdays and weekends; it is a safety-sensitive position and requires the CSO to be fit for duty while on call Travel to work at field sites and at Alstar’s Calgary Facility when required What We’re Looking For From You – If This Describes You, We’d Love To Meet! 1 to 2 years of experience in direct field operations in an HSE or trades background preferred, not required Fast learner Looking to build a long term career in safety at Alstar Enthusiastic about safety and learning new software tools NCSO certification not required but can be an asset Open to learning & adopting the company culture CSTS-09 or 2020 by ACSA CSO by ESC, WHMIS 2015, Intermediate (Standard) First Aid, HS2 Alive and Fall Protection Successfully complete a pre-access drug and alcohol testing Valid Class 5 driver's License & 5 years clean driving abstract Oil and gas experience is an asset, not required Loves to be hands on, boots on the ground & comfortable working in all weather conditions Willingness to travel for work regularly Excellent computer skills (Google) Based out of Edmonton Area or willing to relocate Where Our Projects Are Located: Our projects happen in Western Canada, and you must be willing to travel sporadically to all sites.
