Context of the project: Support product development activities within Electric testing laboratories. Products undergo safety testing and EMC immunity testing throughout various prototype maturity stages. Position will support long-term reliability testing, test execution, lab operations, calibration management, and general engineering support activities. Day to day activities (concrete examples + pictures, schemas to illustrate the final “product”): Execute established safety and EMC immunity test plans on product prototypes. Perform regression testing on subsequent product iterations. Set up and maintain long-term mission profile testing (multi-month duration). Monitor test equipment and prototype performance. Provide daily summaries and feedback to engineers. Track calibration schedules for laboratory equipment. Coordinate calibration shipments with external vendors. Package, ship, receive, and reinstall calibrated equipment. Assist with lab setup activities. Build and modify test setups. Wire preparation (stripping wires, connections, etc.). Support engineers with administrative and operational tasks. Maintain test records and results in Excel spreadsheets. Assist wherever needed across the engineering team. Candidate requirements Must-haves Strong foundation in electrical/electronics fundamentals: Voltage Current AC power concepts Safe handling of electrical systems Excellent personal organization skills Self-starter mentality Proactive attitude and willingness to support the team Ability to communicate technical results to engineers Nice to have Experience with 3-phase AC systems Previous product testing or laboratory experience Experience with test equipment calibration Experience working with NIST-certified equipment Exposure to EMC or safety testing environments Tools / software / methodology / certification Microsoft Excel (most important) Test equipment and calibration processes Electrical test instrumentation NIST calibration processes (nice-to-have) Soft skills Proactive Self-starter Team player Highly organized Adaptable Strong ownership mindset Willingness to take initiative during downtime Seniority level Junior New graduate acceptable 0 to 5 years of experience Why Join Us? In accordance with our compensation practices, ALTEN is providing the salary range associated with this opportunity. Final compensation will be determined after considering several factors, including professional experience, skill set, educational background, certifications, and geographic market conditions. The current target salary range for this role is $65,000 – $70,000 per year. This job posting corresponds to an active and immediate vacancy currently open with one of Alten’s clients.
