As a Network Deployment Technician at AWS, you will get to help build and maintain a Cloud Computing Infrastructure across a number of data center and colocation sites in the Americas. The role involves some periods working independently of your team and requires the ability to drive change while maintaining excellent communication. Key job responsibilities • Installation and configuration of routers, switches and DWDM hardware. • Troubleshoot fiber optic and copper cabling, network installations and configuration. • Coordinating colocation remote hands for new capacity installations. • Work cross functionally with internal partners to deliver network capacity projects. • Resolving data center and facility issues. • Identify, coordinate, and remediate outside plant (OSP) connectivity issues. • Lead small to mid-size network deployment projects. • Building relationships with remote teams to ensure swift response times to events. • Performing site audits to ensure safety and quality meets AWS standards. • Improving all operational processes within each site and/or cage. • Providing status updates to stakeholders via internal tools. • Decommissioning of cable and network hardware in collaboration with partner teams as needed. • Physical Requirements (all physical requirements may be done with reasonable accommodations). This position has a physical component requiring the ability to lift & rack equipment up to 40lbs; it may require working in cramped spaces or in elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines. • This role may involve up to 50% travel; the vast majority is local travel but may have the potential to include domestic and international travel to support the organization. As a total compensation company, Amazon's package may include other elements such as sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
