Position: Senior / Principal Mining Engineer Location: Canada or North America Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior/ Principal Mining Engineer to join our Open Pit & Geosciences team based in Canada or North America, where you will work collaboratively towards delivering high-quality solutions and results for our clients. As our next Senior / Principal Engineer, you will have strong open pit mine planning skills, supported with practical experience. This experience will allow you to work collaboratively with other professionals to develop innovative, practical solutions that add value to our clients projects. The ideal candidate should have experience in completing technical mine planning combined with the development of technical documents (reports) to efficiently communicate outcomes and results to our clients. The candidate will maintain, build, and further develop client relationships as part of our project delivery and business development goals. Salary C$130,000 – $200,000, the salary will be based on your overall experiences and qualifications. Skills And Competencies Core functions Manage and deliver consulting assignments, serving as Project Manager when necessary Complete technical tasks within established timeframes and budget limits Experience in mine design, scheduling, strategic mine planning, and pit optimization Strong skills in mining costs modelling and equipment selection Sold experience managing technical studies and due diligence reviews Exposure to open pit operations (production, short term planning, drill and blast) Mentor and support the development of junior engineers Contribute to business development activities and maintain effective client engagement Ensure project documentation and client communications are current and accurate Competencies Proficient in Open Pit mine design and scheduling using common industry software Strong project management capability with a focus on risk, quality and timely delivery Advanced technical writing skills for complex reports and documentation Effective at managing multiple priorities in fast paced environment Demonstrated leadership and ability to build collaborative teams Strong stakeholder and client relationship-building skills Strategic thinker with an action-oriented approach to business development Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external teams Committed to professionalism, integrity and high ethical standards Qualifications And Experience Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mining Engineering or related discipline A minimum of 7 years of industry experience, including recognized expertise in at least one primary area Demonstrated capacity to work independently, coupled with strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
