Position: Cook Reports to: Food Service Manager Job Status: On call Casual Openings, Onsite Location: 15055 Yonge St, Aurora, ON L4G 6T4 Pay: $19.42 Your Day To Day As a Cook at Amenida Senior Community, your responsibilities will include: Preparing and serving home-cooked meals using fresh, real ingredients for a large group of residents. Planning and prepping meals for the current and following day. Assisting the Food Service Manager with kitchen operations as needed. Ensuring proper food presentation and portion control. Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in all food preparation areas in accordance with health regulations. Supporting kitchen tasks including lifting, bending, twisting, and standing for long periods. Cleaning kitchen equipment and work areas according to established standards. Adhering to safety and food handling protocols at all times. Focusing on preparing authentic Korean cuisine to meet the cultural and dietary preferences of residents. What You Bring To The Table Proven experience cooking in a busy kitchen environment, preferably in a senior care or institutional setting. Ability to prepare large-batch meals with attention to taste, presentation, and dietary requirements. Valid Food Handling Certificate. Strong understanding of and experience in Korean cuisine (preferred). Ability to lift, bend, and perform physical tasks related to food service. Positive attitude and a team-oriented mindset. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays as needed. Must successfully complete a criminal background check prior to hire, including a Vulnerable Sector Screening, in accordance with applicable provincial and federal regulations.
