ABOUT THE ROLE The primary objectives of the Quality Control Technician are to ensure that all chemical and physical testing of cement, intermediate products and raw materials and fuels are performed accurately and within all standards. The Quality Control Technician is an integral link in the Brookfield Plant Quality Control program. WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH Produce reliable and repeatable data results on a consistent basis. Support the department in achieving quality objectives. Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR Education: Technical diploma or equivalent experience. Field of Study Preferred: A two-year chemical technology course is preferred or equivalent experience. Work Experience: Previous experience in quality control or a laboratory setting is preferred. Experience in a mortar/concrete testing lab considered an asset. Technical Skills: Basic computer skills. Key Attributes: Ability to work independently with minimal instruction; good troubleshooting, problem solving, and analytical skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities. Additional Requirements: Must be able to work Monday to Friday 07:30 – 16:00 Hrs. Must be willing and able to perform work that includes manual lifting, carrying, and moving tools and equipment; intermittent walking and standing; regular bending. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50+ pounds. Must occasionally perform work outdoors in all weather conditions, and work around moving mechanical parts and equipment. Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
