Logistics Supervisor Location: 8470 Keele St, Concord ON Full Time permanent position Job Summary: The Logistics Supervisor is supporting the day-to-day operations of the logistics team ensuring the timely and efficient movement of inbound and outbound shipments. This role provides leadership to logistics coordinators and administrators while supporting carrier relationships, transportation planning, customer service, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Logistics Supervisor works closely with internal teams to ensure operational excellence, service reliability, and cost effective transportation solutions. Key Responsibilities: Supervise the daily activities of the logistics team, providing direction, support, and ensure operational goals are achieved. Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring freight is planned, booked, tracked, and delivered on time. Support carrier relationships by obtaining competitive transportation rates and monitoring service performance. Assist with transportation planning across multiple modes, including truck, rail, and ocean freight where applicable. Work closely with internal departments to support business requirements and customer expectations. Monitor shipment activity and proactively resolve transportation issues, delays, and service disruptions. Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, company policies, and safety standards. Review freight costs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce transportation expenses. Monitor logistics performance through key performance indicators and recommend process improvements. Investigate shipment issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. Assist with scheduling, training, and developing members of the logistics team. Support a positive team environment that promotes accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Skills/Knowledge/Experience required to perform the job: Post-secondary education in Logistics, Business, or Supply Chain Management, or related field is considered an asset 3 – 5 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations. Previous supervisory or team lead experience is preferred. Strong understanding of transportation operations, including carrier management, freight coordination, and shipment planning. Experience working with transportation or logistics software and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of domestic and international transportation practices is an asset. Strong organizational and problem solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Customer focused with the ability to build strong working relationships. Demonstrates initiative, accountability, and a hands on approach to leadership.
