Transportation & Fleet Manager Our client is seeking a hands-on, execution-driven Transportation & Fleet Manager to lead our transportation and fleet functions across multiple sites. Reporting directly to the Vice President, Operations, this role is pivotal in managing the day-to-day operations of the fleet, driving efficiency, accountability, and results within the team. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, initiative, and operational focus, and will be deeply involved in both strategy and implementation. This individual will lead by example, take ownership of issues, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. Work Status:This is an in person role requiring travel between 3 facilities. Address: 8470 Keele Street, Concord (Vaughan), ON L4K 2S1 Outcomes: Establish clear performance benchmarks for all fleet team members. Deliver improvements in cost control and reduce transport inefficiencies. Lead departmental meetings focused on proactive issue resolution and planning. Implement a performance-driven culture with strong follow-through. Identify and resolve root-cause issues impacting delivery and service. Responsibilities: Manage daily operations of the fleet and transportation department. Lead and coach a team of dispatchers, drivers, and coordinators with a focus on accountability. Proactively identify process gaps and implement improvements. Ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety, and regulatory standards. Oversee fleet maintenance schedules and contractor management. Provide regular performance reporting and insights to leadership. Candidate Profile: Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma preferred. 5+ years in fleet/transportation/logistics operations with team leadership experience. 3+ years of leadership experience: people management and talent development, including training, coaching/mentoring and team building. Demonstrated ability to lead hands-on and get results. Proactive, execution-focused, and able to work independently. Skilled in coaching, delegating, and team development. Strong problem-solving ability with a root-cause mindset. Strong systems knowledge Financial acumen in managing budgets and cost efficiency.
