Your Challenges The Neuroscientist will apply their expertise in neuroscience and stem cell biology to lead Service and R&D projects involving human neuronal cultures and neuron-on-chip technologies. This position involves designing and executing experiments, analyzing complex datasets, interpreting scientific results, and preparing technical reports. Success in this role requires maintaining exceptionally high-quality cell cultures, ensuring experimental reproducibility, applying rigorous scientific standards, excellent written and oral communication skills and delivering projects on schedule. We are looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented scientist who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and is eager to share knowledge while contributing to the company's scientific growth. Duties and responsibilities The successful candidate will work independently in planning and executing experiments while coordinating activities across multiple departments. Key responsibilities include: · Contribute scientific expertise to product development and technical problem-solving activities aimed at optimizing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maximizing product performance. · Independently manage customer Service Projects from project planning through experimental execution and final report delivery. · Design, develop, optimize, and validate cellular assays for compound screening and evaluation. · Collaborate with the Data Analysis team to develop and improve data analysis pipelines. · Mentor and coach laboratory technicians in daily cell culture operations while contributing to continuous improvement of laboratory procedures. · Support technology transfer from laboratory and pilot production to commercial manufacturing. · Assist in preparing scientific documentation for patent applications and grants. · Stay current with advances in neuroscience and related technologies by reviewing scientific literature and providing executive summaries with strategic recommendations. · Present research findings at scientific conferences and contribute to peer-reviewed publications. · Establish laboratory standards and participate in developing, implementing, and improving the Quality Management System (QMS). · Contribute to laboratory management activities, including health and safety, inventory management, equipment maintenance, and purchasing laboratory supplies. · Maintain accurate laboratory records in accordance with SOPs and QMS requirements. · Provide scientific and technical support during process development and manufacturing activities. · Demonstrate Ananda Devices' core values through integrity, scientific excellence, innovation, ethical and environmental responsibility, and respect for human and animal life. Qualifications Education MSc or PhD in Neuroscience, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, or another relevant discipline. Technical Qualifications · Demonstrated hands-on experience with neuronal cell culture and functional neuronal assays. · Strong experience in neuronal and stem cell culture techniques. · Experience with fluorescence microscopy and image analysis. · Experience designing, troubleshooting, and optimizing in vitro cellular assays. · Strong understanding of experimental design, statistical analysis, and interpretation of biological data. · Experience working in Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2) laboratories. · Ability to develop and implement laboratory safety procedures. Assets Experience with one or more of the following would be considered a strong asset: · Microfluidics and lab-on-a-chip technologies · Human organ-on-chip models · Calcium imaging · Electrophysiology · High-content imaging · Automated microscopy · Quality Management Systems (QMS) · Technology transfer and process scale-up Professional Skills · Exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail. · Excellent project management and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines. · Proven ability to independently execute complex scientific projects from concept through completion. · Strong practical laboratory experience combined with a solid theoretical understanding of neuroscience. · Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities. · Strong written and verbal communication skills, including scientific report writing and presentations. · Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. · A proactive, hands-on attitude with a willingness to "roll up your sleeves" and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
