OBJECTIF DU POSTE Le ou la pathologiste clinique vétérinaire est responsable de diagnostiquer les maladies et de déterminer les causes de décès chez les animaux de compagnie et les animaux de laboratoire en examinant les tissus, les liquides biologiques et les échantillons hématologiques. L'échelle salariale cible pour ce poste est de 150 000 $ à 185 000 $ par année. Décrire et interpréter les préparations cytologiques provenant d'aspirations à l'aiguille fine, de liquides biologiques et d'échantillons hématologiques afin de déterminer la cause des maladies ou des décès chez les animaux. Préparer les rapports diagnostiques portant sur les résultats cytologiques, hématologiques et de pathologie clinique. Dicter des évaluations médicales à l'aide du logiciel Dragon ou d'autres logiciels de dictée. Conseiller les médecins vétérinaires concernant les maladies détectées dans les tissus et liquides analysés, en s'appuyant sur les résultats des analyses et les constatations cliniques, par Microsoft Teams, téléphone ou courriel. Participer aux réunions cliniques (« rounds ») de pathologie toutes les deux semaines. Décrire, interpréter et produire des rapports sur les échantillons de recherche provenant d'animaux de compagnie et d'animaux de laboratoire, notamment le liquide céphalorachidien, les aspirations de moelle osseuse et les données hématologiques. Fournir des deuxièmes avis médicaux à la demande des clients ou de collègues. Décrire et interpréter les résultats histopathologiques provenant de biopsies ostéomédullaires. Fournir des conseils scientifiques et techniques au personnel du laboratoire et aux médecins vétérinaires concernant la collecte et la soumission des échantillons. Maintenir ses connaissances à jour en médecine vétérinaire et en pathologie clinique en consultant régulièrement des publications scientifiques, des ouvrages spécialisés et en participant à des activités de formation continue, congrès et séminaires. Participer au programme de contrôle de la qualité. Maintenir un haut niveau de compétence en diagnostic clinique. Apporter son soutien aux autres activités liées à la pathologie clinique et aux services de laboratoire. Participer, au besoin, à des initiatives organisationnelles, à des projets spéciaux ou à toute autre tâche connexe confiée. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Doctorat en médecine vétérinaire (DMV) obtenu auprès d'une faculté de médecine vétérinaire agréée au Canada, ou diplôme de Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) obtenu auprès d'un établissement accrédité aux États-Unis, ou diplôme équivalent reconnu. Diplomate de l'American College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP), ou admissible à cette certification. Détenir un permis d'exercice en médecine vétérinaire valide ou être admissible à en obtenir un, selon les exigences de la province ou de l'État où les fonctions seront exercées, y compris au Québec auprès de l'Ordre des médecins vétérinaires du Québec (OMVQ), le cas échéant. COMPÉTENCES ET APTITUDES RECHERCHÉES Excellentes habiletés en communication écrite et orale. Esprit d'analyse, créativité et grand souci du détail. Sens de l'organisation et aptitude à gérer plusieurs dossiers simultanément dans un environnement dynamique. Expérience en laboratoire, un atout. Capacité démontrée à établir et maintenir des relations professionnelles efficaces avec la clientèle et les équipes de gestion. Capacité à travailler efficacement en télétravail avec un minimum de supervision. Expérience avec le logiciel Dragon, un atout. Expérience avec des logiciels de visualisation DICOM, un atout. Excellente maîtrise de l'anglais, à l'oral et à l'écrit. ENGLISH VERSION PURPOSE OF JOB: The Clinical Pathologist will diagnose disease and cause of death in companion and laboratory animals by examining body tissues, fluids, and hematologic specimens. The Target pay range for this position is $130,000 - $160,000 USD or 150,000 - 185,000 CAD annually. At Antech, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training, and budget. Describe and interpret cytologic preparations from fine needle aspirates, body fluids and hematologic specimens to determine the cause of disease or death in animals Prepare pathology narrative reports of cytologic, hermatologic and clinical pathology data. Dictating medical evaluations using Dragon and other dictating software Consult with Veterinarians about diseases detected in sample tissues and fluids based on test results and clinical findings through Skype, phone and email Participate in Pathology rounds bi-weekly Describe, interpret and generate reports for research samples in companion and laboratory animals, including cerebrospinal fluid, bone marrow aspirates and hematologic data. Provide medical second opinions as requested by clients or from colleagues. Describe and interpret histopathologic findings from bone marrow core biopsies. Provide scientific and technical advice to laboratory staff and Veterinarians with regard to sample collection and submission. Stay current on veterinary and medical practiced through continuously reviewing journal publications, text books and attending continuing education conferences and seminars Participate in the Quality Control program Maintain proficiency in clinical diagnostic skills Assist in other duties relevant to Clinical Pathology and other lab services May be asked to participate in enterprise initiatives special projects or other duties as assigned. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree or equivalent Diplomat of American College of Veterinary Pathologists Must be licensed to practice veterinary medicine in respective state REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. The Clinical Pathologist is responsible for diagnosing diseases and determining causes of death in animals by examining tissues and fluids. They prepare diagnostic reports, consult with veterinarians, and participate in quality control programs.

Candidates must have a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and be a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists. A valid veterinary license and strong communication skills are also required.
