Door and Frame Fabricator

Apex is seeking a skilled and motivated Door & Frame Fabricator to join our operations team. This role is responsible for fabricating hollow metal doors and frames using welding and sheet metal fabrication techniques, while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. Key Responsibilities Safely operate power tools and fabrication equipment, including MIG welders, saws, presses, and punching machines. Perform light-gauge metal welding and fabrication of hollow metal doors and frames. Read and interpret work orders, technical drawings, hardware templates, and production schedules. Install glass in doors, frames, and borrowed lites. Handle materials and components, including occasional heavy lifting. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company policies and safety regulations. Inspect finished products to ensure quality standards are met. Identify opportunities for process improvements and communicate them to the Shop Supervisor. Qualifications & Skills Ability to read and work with both imperial and metric measurements. Ability to interpret technical drawings and fabrication specifications. Experience with wire-feed (MIG) welding is considered an asset. Proficient in using power tools such as grinders, jig saws, and mitre saws. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to work independently and meet production deadlines. Positive attitude and strong team-oriented mindset. Willingness to learn and develop new skills. High School Diploma or GED required.
