CASUAL - ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT, FIXED ASSETS - LEDUC JOB POSTING # C12-26 In this unionized position, the successful candidate will support the capital expenditure reporting process; the completion of capital expenditure budgets and forecasts; fixed asset accounting process, and general accounting functions; and administer the refundable contributions and capital accounts receivable processes and perform other duties as required. Major duties include but are not limited to: * Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual capital expenditure reports; * Complete schedules, reports, reconciliations and backup working papers to support the preparation of capital budgets and forecasts; * Gather and analyze historical data to support completion of budgets and forecasts; * Prepare and process journal entries for depreciation, amortization, plant additions and retirements; * Prepare monthly invoices for capital receivables and contributions; and * Support financial accounting and general accounting functions as required. Qualifications include: * Minimum education of a Diploma in Business Accounting or equivalent; * Minimum two years’ experience in an accounting environment*; * Experience in fixed asset recording and reporting and the preparation of financial reports would be an asset; * Must be detail oriented, and have strong analytical, communication and organizational skills; and * Demonstrated ability of intermediate general Excel skills and Excel pivot table skills. *Note: Those that do not meet the experience requirement are encouraged to apply.
