Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join their finance team on a 10-month contract in a hybrid environment downtown Calgary. This is an excellent opportunity for a collaborative finance professional who enjoys partnering with stakeholders, driving strategic initiatives, and delivering meaningful financial insights that support business decisions. Key Responsibilities Act as a trusted finance subject matter expert, providing guidance and support to finance, leadership, and internal business partners. Research, analyze, and evaluate financial and operational issues, identifying risks, opportunities, and business impacts. Develop recommendations that support informed decision-making and organizational objectives. Coordinate and support finance, strategic, and operational projects across multiple functional areas. Supporting the annual ICAAP process, including financial stress testing and risk scenario analysis. Maintain, enhance, and continuously improve forecasting models to increase accuracy and efficiency. Analyze financial results, identify trends and variances, and prepare reports and presentations for management. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes, reporting, and overall business performance. Support ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as required. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline. Accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) 3+ years within the banking or financial institution sector is preferred. 5+ years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, corporate finance, or a senior financial analyst role. Strong experience with forecasting - this environment has very comprehensive forecasting and is extremely detailed. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools. Experience working with ERP systems; familiarity with Workday and Epicor (GL) is an asset.
