Work site environment Dusty Noisy Work setting Sheet metal fabrication shop Metal products manufacturing company Responsibilities Tasks Operate metal cleaning equipment to remove excess welds, rust, scale and other materials from surfaces of metal products Transport raw materials, finished products and equipment throughout plant manually Assist structural steel and platework fitters, sheet metal workers, metal machine operators or other metal workers Sort metal sheets and parts, scrap metal and other materials Grind or chip excess metal from metal products using hand tools Clean machines and immediate work areas Polish metal products to mirror finish Grind and buff seams, joints and rough surfaces Clean, polish, file or otherwise finish products Experience and specialization Surface preparation methods Sandblasters Type of operation Grinding Equipment and machinery experience Deburrer Hand truck Polishers Hand tools Polishing machines Benefits Health benefits Dental plan Health care plan Vision care benefits

Operate metal cleaning and polishing equipment to remove excess welds, rust, and scale from metal products. Ensure products are finished to a mirror finish and maintain a clean work area.

Requires a Registered Apprenticeship certificate and at least 5 years of experience in metal polishing. Must be able to work in a noisy and dusty sheet metal fabrication environment.
