Hiring: Senior DB2 LUW Application DBA Location: Ontario, Canada (Onsite) We are looking for a Senior DB2 LUW Application DBA with strong experience in large-scale database operations, performance tuning, automation, and data migration. Environment: • 5 very large 300TB+ DB2 LUW DPF clusters per environment • Multiple OLTP databases • Fully on-premises environment Key Responsibilities: • DB2 database operations, monitoring, and performance tuning • Performance optimization across DPF clusters • Data purging strategy and execution • Space reclamation for very large tables after purge • Backup, recovery, upgrades, and DR planning • Snowflake database administration • On-premises to Snowflake data migration • DB2 → Snowflake and Greenplum → Snowflake migrations • Support continuous DB2 LUW → Snowflake archival pipelines using SparkSQL-based tooling • Work with JIRA, Bitbucket, Git, and Autosys • Manage and support environments with 700+ scheduled jobs Required Skills: ✅ Strong DB2 LUW / DPF experience ✅ Strong Python and Shell scripting – automation is core to the role ✅ Snowflake administration and large-scale data migration ✅ DB2 performance tuning and database operations ✅ JIRA, Bitbucket, Git, and Autosys ✅ Experience with large OLTP environments ✅ Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills ✅ Ability to work independently in a Kanban-based environment ➕ AI-assisted development tools such as VS Code and GitHub Copilot are a plus ➕ Basic Sybase database monitoring knowledge for on-call support 🔹 Work & Support Model • Kanban-based work management with no fixed daily/weekly schedule • Work driven by purge requests, migrations, incidents, performance issues, and regulatory requirements • No 24x7 support • On-call rotation approximately one week every 2–3 months The ideal candidate should be self-directed, comfortable with ambiguity, and capable of making independent technical decisions and taking ownership. 📩 Interested candidates can share their updated resume. please share your resume - [email protected] / [email protected] Contact No - 817 330 7081
