About The Role The Family Service Director - Licensed Cemetery & Funeral Pre-Planner plays a pivotal role in providing compassionate and professional support to families during sensitive times. This position is responsible for guiding clients through the pre-planning process for cemetery and funeral services, ensuring their wishes are clearly understood and documented. The role requires a deep understanding of cemetery and funeral regulations, as well as the ability to coordinate with various service providers to deliver seamless experiences. The Family Service Director acts as a trusted advisor, helping families make informed decisions that align with their cultural, religious, and personal preferences. Ultimately, this role aims to alleviate stress for families by offering expert guidance and personalized service throughout the pre-planning journey. Minimum Qualifications Valid license as a Funeral Pre-Planner or Funeral Director. Valid Ontario Driver's license and full-time access to a vehicle Experience in funeral service, cemetery operations, or related consumer support services. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate approach to client service. Strong organizational skills and proficiency in maintaining accurate records and managing confidential client information. Ability to work evenings, weekends & holidays Preferred Qualifications Experience in pre-need sales or funeral pre-planning services. Familiarity with funeral and cemetery services. A second language to serve diverse Canadian communities. Proficiency with industry-specific software and CRM systems. Knowledge of Canadian cemetery and funeral regulations and compliance requirements. Responsibilities Consult with families to understand their needs and preferences regarding cemetery and funeral pre-planning services. Develop and present customized pre-planning options that comply with legal and organizational standards. Coordinate with cemetery staff, funeral homes, and other service providers to ensure all arrangements are accurately documented and executed. Maintain detailed records of pre-planning agreements and update client information as needed. Provide ongoing support and communication to families, addressing any questions or changes in their plans. Educate clients about available products, services, and financial options related to cemetery and funeral pre-planning. Ensure compliance with all provincial regulations and company policies related to funeral and cemetery services. Participate in community outreach and educational programs to raise awareness about the benefits of pre-planning. Skills The required skills enable the Family Service Director to effectively communicate with families, ensuring their needs and wishes are clearly understood and respected. Strong organizational skills are essential for managing multiple client files, coordinating with service providers, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. Compassion and empathy are critical in building trust and providing emotional support during difficult times. Preferred skills such as bilingual communication and grief counseling enhance the ability to serve a broader client base and provide holistic support. Additionally, proficiency with technology and software tools streamlines administrative tasks and improves client relationship management, contributing to a seamless pre-planning experience.
