We are presently accepting resumes for a number of Permanent Full-Time Flex Support Worker II. This position will be assigned to work in various Empower Simcoe group homes in Orillia, working up to 72 hours biweekly. The purpose of this role is to provide flexible, person-centered support across multiple group living locations within Empower Simcoe, at our Orillia locations. The Flex Support Worker will play a critical role in filling vacant shifts, responding to immediate staffing needs, and being prepared for redeployment where necessary. Compensation Package Hours of work will include days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays, as required; working 12-hour shifts for a total of 72 hours biweekly with a fixed rotating schedule; Minimum starting rate of pay is $27.36 11 paid Statutory Holidays; Confidential Employee Assistance program for you and for your immediate family; Following The Successful Completion Of Probation Employer paid life insurance, health, and dental benefits; Employer paid vacation, personal leave, and sick time; Participation in RRSP with employer match up to 4%; Minimum Qualifications Developmental Service Worker diploma or an acceptable equivalent diploma/degree in a related field (i.e., Child and Youth Worker, Early Childhood Education, Social Service Worker, Nursing, Psychology, etc.) as determined by the employer is required; Minimum one-year recent full-time work experience in a social services setting providing support for people with a disability is required; Candidates who have a completed degree or diploma from an accredited college or university in an unrelated field must have 2 years full-time work experience directly supporting people; When submitting your resume and cover letter, please also upload a copy of your diplomas/degrees. In your resume, please ensure that you specify the length of your programs; Ability to work weekends and holidays; Ability to attend team meetings and training as required; A valid class "G" driver's license and own reliable transportation is required. Role/Duties Our Support Workers provide support to individuals with intellectual disabilities with all aspects of daily living within a group home setting. Responsibilities include providing support with personal care, household duties, meal preparation, finances, as well as supporting people to appointments and/or out in the community. The Flex Support Worker must be prepared to be redeployed to different locations based on Agency priorities and emergent needs. This position must be able to transition seamlessly between different work locations and varying supports.
