Role description: Arcadis is seeking an Intermediate Geotechnical Specialist to contribute to the delivery of geotechnical, geological, and hydrogeological projects across the transportation, infrastructure, mining, dams, tunnels, marine, water, and industrial sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for geotechnical investigations, analyses, design, construction support, and technical reporting while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and clients. The role offers opportunities to further develop technical expertise, contribute to project execution and client relationships, and assume increasing technical and project leadership responsibilities. Role accountabilities: The successful candidate will contribute to and execute geotechnical investigations, assessments, analyses, and design assignments involving foundations, retaining structures, embankments, earthworks, tunnels, excavations, dams, tailings facilities, marine works, and groundwater systems. Plan and coordinate field investigation programs; interpret soil, rock, groundwater, laboratory, and instrumentation data; and develop geotechnical design parameters and engineering recommendations. Perform geotechnical analyses including slope stability, seepage, settlement, dewatering, seismic, liquefaction, and soil-structure interaction assessments using industry-standard software such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio, and Rocscience. Prepare technical reports, design memoranda, engineering calculations, specifications, and construction support documentation while contributing to quality assurance reviews, risk assessments, proposal development, project planning, budgeting, scheduling, client coordination, and mentoring of junior staff. Provide construction-phase support and ensure compliance with health, safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. Qualifications & Experience: * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering with specialization in Geotechnical Engineering. * 5-10 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience. * P.Eng. designation in Ontario or eligibility to obtain registration. * Experience in geotechnical investigations, design, numerical modelling, technical reporting, and construction support. * Working knowledge of PLAXIS, GeoStudio, Rocscience, Civil 3D, GIS, and Microsoft Office applications. The salary range for this position is $93,280-$139,920. The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position.
