Dispatcher (Evening Shift) Location: Mississauga, ON Employment Type: Full-Time Pay Rate: $23.00/hour Shift: Monday to Friday | 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM Start Date: ASAP Position Overview We are currently seeking a Dispatcher to join our transportation operations team. This role is responsible for coordinating domestic shipments, dispatching drivers and owner-operators, and ensuring freight is moved efficiently while maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations and company policies. The ideal candidate has previous transportation or logistics experience, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and possesses excellent organizational and communication skills. Key Responsibilities Dispatch drivers and owner-operators for domestic pickups and deliveries. Coordinate shipments according to customer requirements and delivery schedules. Prioritize time-sensitive freight to ensure on-time service. Communicate pickup and delivery assignments to drivers. Plan and coordinate next-day loads to maximize fleet efficiency. Monitor shipment progress and provide timely updates to internal teams and customers. Ensure compliance with all provincial and federal transportation regulations and company procedures. Verify shipment documentation, labels, and cargo information. Maintain accurate records and update transportation systems with shipment details. Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders. Assist with other transportation and dispatch-related duties as required. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of dispatch, transportation, or logistics experience preferred. Experience in load planning, dispatching, or fleet coordination is an asset. Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and transportation management software. Accurate data entry and computer skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Must be fluent in English (spoken and written). Basic mathematical skills and strong attention to detail.
