Senior Test Specialist

Key Responsibilities Analyze product requirements and define acceptance criteria. Develop comprehensive verification and validation strategies for software, hardware, cloud services, and integrated systems. Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test frameworks and reusable test suites. Create functional, integration, system, regression, performance, reliability, scalability, and security test plans. Verify compliance with cybersecurity, quality, and non-functional requirements. Design and maintain test benches, simulation environments, virtualized environments, and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) validation systems. Analyze software defects, perform root cause investigations, and collaborate with development teams on corrective actions. Produce validation reports, quality metrics, and release recommendations. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline. 8–10+ years of professional experience in software verification, validation, or quality assurance. Minimum 5 years in a senior software testing, validation, or quality engineering role. Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and DevOps practices. Experience developing automated test frameworks using Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Bash, or similar languages. Experience with REST APIs, API testing, and service-oriented architectures. Experience developing reusable automated validation frameworks. Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated quality gates. Experience working with Linux and Windows environments. Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills for distributed software systems. Experience validating cloud-connected applications and microservices. Knowledge of secure software development practices and cybersecurity testing. Experience with functional, integration, system, regression, performance, and reliability testing. Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking and communication protocols. Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills. Bilingual (English/French) is considered an asset. Preferred Qualifications Experience testing IoT, cloud-native, or connected device solutions. Experience with building automation, HVAC controls, or energy management systems. Familiarity with industry protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, KNX, Zigbee, or MQTT. Knowledge of cybersecurity testing, secure development lifecycle practices, and penetration testing concepts. Experience with Git, GitHub, Azure DevOps, Jira, TestRail, Bamboo, or similar development and test management tools. Experience using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers, multimeters, and network analyzers. Knowledge of Six Sigma or structured quality improvement methodologies. ISTQB or equivalent software testing certification is an asset.
