Reporting to the Supervisor – Infrastructrure, the Boom Truck Operator is responsible for safely operating the boom truck and cranes for loading, unloading, lifting and lowering of materials and equipment. Location: Blackwater Mine site - located 160 km southwest of Prince George, BC. Schedule: Two (2) Weeks On – Two (2) Weeks Off Rotation Employment Type: Permanent Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Demonstrate effective safety leadership by addressing and enforcing BW Golds safety standards, procedures, and safety systems. Safely operate boom truck and cranes for loading, unloading, lifting and lowering of materials and equipment. Work and operate outdoors in all weather conditions, including rain, fog, and winter conditions. Clean, maintain and secure all equipment as per company policies and procedures. Maintain lifting gear in good working condition and report any deficiencies. Complete pre-shift and post-shift inspections and lifting plans and report deficiencies to supervisor. Hook up truck and trailer(s) as needed: deck off Communicate effectively with team and supervisor via hand signals and radio communications. Maintain awareness of surroundings at all times and report hazards. Complete job hazards assessments. Operate other small equipment when needed. Qualifications Red seal – Boom Truck Operator Minimum 5 years experience with drilling or completions truck driving Valid class 1 license and acceptable driver’s abstract Ability to operate other small equipment Be prepared to actively participate in positive and safe working atmosphere Ability to stay alert and pay attention to detail during all hours and weather conditions Good hand-eye coordination Fall Protection Certification Confined Space Certification Aerial Platform Work Certification Ability to safely climb and access equipment, as well as lift heavy objects up to 50lbs Strong team player with the ability to work independently Ability to work at a remote location camp on a 2 weeks on/2 weeks off rotation May be required to maintain a clean-shaven appearance (i.e. no facial hair) to ensure the safe and effective use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) associated with assigned duties.
