Position Overview We are hiring a driven Medical Physicist with a background in nuclear medicine dosimetry, radiopharmaceutical therapies, and imaging (PET, SPECT). The ideal candidate will have previous research or clinical experience in oncology PET / SPECT image analysis and dosimetry. You will participate in developing image quantification methods and procedures, contribute to processing of clinical and research imaging data, and collaborate with academics, clinicians, and software/AI engineers to develop cutting-edge nuclear medicine solutions that improve patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities As a Medical Physicist at Ascinta, your responsibilities will consist of the following: Manage and execute imaging-based dosimetry workflows and calculations for radiopharmaceutical therapies (RPTs), including beta and alpha-emitters, while following best practices and guidelines. Work closely with nuclear medicine physicians and physicists to develop new and improved RPT dosimetry protocols, write and maintain standard operating procedures. Perform regular quality assurance and control checks on RPT dosimetry calculations. Participate in research projects and clinical trials that advance RPT and contribute to wider adoption of personalized therapies through dosimetry. Manage a team of image analysts, helping with education and training of RPT and related areas. Manage datasets for AI model training, including annotated imaging data from the clinic. Stay current with advancements in RPT and implement new techniques and technologies as appropriate. Minimum Qualifications Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Medical Physics, Biomedical Engineering, Engineering Physics, or a related field. Strong understanding of the fundamental principles of radioactive decay, particle energetics and interactions with matter, radiobiology, radiation effects on health. Knowledge of the basics of cellular biology, human anatomy, and physiology. Proven ability (e.g. with publications) to analyze complex data and make logical data-informed conclusions. Experience with analysis and annotation of volumetric medical images (PET, SPECT, CT). Ability to lead and manage a diverse team, great work ethics and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail with aptitude for granular problem-solving. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Preferred Qualifications Fundamental analytical physics skills including energy, radioactivity, and dose calculations; understanding of the numerical analysis techniques. Experience in developing and implementing physics-related or image analysis / computer vision algorithms and software in Python, Matlab, C/C++, or similar languages. Research or clinical experience with radiopharmaceutical imaging and therapy. Relevant publications in high-impact journals. Degree from a CAMPEP-accredited program. Compensation Starting annual salary in the range CDN $90,000 – $135,000 depending on prior work experience, with annual increases commensurate with performance. Stock option package.
