The Opportunity Associated Engineering, a proudly Canadian, Employee-owned Company is seeking an experienced and dedicated Intermediate Civil Engineer to join our team in our Vancouver office. We are looking for a leader interested in multidisciplined infrastructure projects. The team you will be joining is involved in projects including smaller and larger scale municipal infrastructure projects. This includes large diameter water and wastewater conveyance and pumping projects, tunneling and other trenchless installation projects, municipal roads design, district energy piping design, hydraulic analysis, hydro energy recovery, municipal facilities and much more. Based on your experience, there is opportunity to take a lead role with increasing responsibility on significant regional infrastructure projects, supporting our principal engineers on a wide variety of complex and challenging initiatives. Provide support to technicians and designers to ensure that design drawings are accurately prepared and checked. Prepare written technical reports including but not limited to feasibility studies, concept design, detailed design and design criteria, reports, memorandums and briefs. Prepare contract document packages complete with construction drawings. Preparefunding submissions. Oversee and coordinating work for Civil Technologists. Perform construction administration/inspection. Perform project management tasks including communications with clients, managing schedules, budgets, and reporting requirements. Perform quality management tasks including quality control and quality assurance tasks. Achieve budget compliance on assigned engineering projects to ensure financial objectives are met or exceeded. Effective and clearly communicating, both verbally and in writing, with clients. Coordinate sub-consultants on projects. Coordinate with various project disciplines on larger projects. Execute projects in accordance with company guidelines and standards. Participate in marketing strategies and business development with clients to procure business. Assist with writing proposals to procure new projects. Does this sound like you? Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution. Registered as a Professional Engineer with EGBC Project Management certification (PMP) through PMI is a beneficial asset. 5+ years of progressive experience in designing municipal infrastructure is essential. Experience and proficiency in Civil 3D and AutoCAD. Trenchless design experience would be an asset. Experience in the undertaking detaileddesign, specifications, cost estimating, tendering, and construction administration. Experience on site as inspector for civil infrastructure construction projects. Experience with various project delivery methods, Familiar with the British Columbia, Master Municipal Contract Documents (MMCD Contract Administration Certification is a beneficial asset.) Proficient technical skills. Excellent interpersonal and organization skills. Committed team player. Proven ability to liaise and manage Clients, Contractors, and other Consultants’ relationships Proven people skills for both internal and external clients. Motivated to grow career. Demonstrated prioritization, problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills Comfortable working on a variety of project types in a variety of disciplines and sectors across Canada.
